German writer and translator (1830-1914) who wrote novels, poetry, and short stories and was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1910. TLS in German, signed “Dr. Paul Heyse,” one page, 5.75 x 8.75, August 6, 1907. Form letter concerning fees owed for the alleged unauthorized printing of a written work, in part (translated): "You must undertake to apply for legal proceedings against the reprinter in the event that the reprint fee is not paid willingly. If necessary, the General Writers' Association would then send you an application form, which you would have to fill out, sign and send to the court specified for you. You wouldn't have any costs from this, as the General Writers' Association unconditionally and completely covers them. However, under no circumstances are you allowed to refuse to file such a criminal complaint, as it is not acceptable for us to take the money from those editorial offices that pay it with good will, but let the others who maliciously refuse it go." In very good to fine condition, with irregular toning, and old tape reinforcements on the back.
