British Conservative statesman (1848-1930) who served as prime minister from 1902 to 1905; his Balfour Declaration, issued in 1917, established a national home in Palestine for the Jewish people. Two items: a fountain pen signature, "Arthur Balfour," on an off-white 4.75 x 2.5 slip; and a TLS signed "Balfour," one page, 6.5 x 8.5, personal letterhead, June 23, 1925, in full: "I feel much honoured by the proposed dedication of your forthcoming work on Zionism." In fine condition, with a few faint stains.
