Factory-sealed copy of Timothy Leary's Mind Mirror simulation game released in 1985 by Electronic Arts for Apple II+, Apple IIe, and Apple IIc personal computers. The front cover features a picture of a mirrored ball with a reflection that reveals Leary as its holder, and the back cover contains a quote from Leary, two screen captures, and information text, which reads, in part: “TUNE IN, TURN ON, BOOT UP / Mind Mirror is an innovative, dynamic game bringing a whole new concept to ‘personality’ software. Written by Dr. Timothy Leary, famous Harvard psychologist, author and lecturer, Mind Mirror combines the science of Leary's psychometric studies with his own inimitable wit and charm. Part tool, part game, and part philosopher on a disk, Mind Mirror is a provocative game perfect for parties or social gatherings like the popular board games ‘Scruples’ or ‘Trivial Pursuit.’” In very fine condition.
Leary created Mind Mirror in collaboration with Bob Dietz and Peter Van den Beemt in 1985. The game is based on Leary’s work on psychometrics from the 1950s and allows users to define, compare, and role-play personalities. One of the most innovative ideas about the program is that role-playing someone else will teach you about yourself and others.
