Marilyn Monroe Production, Inc. business check, 8.25 x 3, filled out in type and signed by Monroe, "Marilyn Monroe," payable to the New York State Unemployment Insurance Fund for $40.50, October 25, 1957. In fine condition.
Spurred by her desire to have more control over her career, Monroe and business partner Milton Greene formed the independent film production company, Marilyn Monroe Productions, in 1955. The studio made two films—Bus Stop in 1956, and The Prince and the Showgirl in 1957—but folded soon thereafter when Monroe's once cordial relationship with Greene dissolved after Arthur Miller accused Greene of undermining his wife in order to further his own financial interests.
