Featuring French text inside, the invitation reads (translated): "The International Olympic Committee having designated the city of Saint-Moritz as the headquarters of the celebration of the Winter Games of the fourteenth Olympiad, the Swiss Olympic Committee and the Organizing Committee of the 1948 Olympic Winter Games have the honor to ask you to participate in the competitions and celebrations which will take place on this occasion, in Saint-Moritz, from January 30 to February 8, 1948." Signed at the conclusion in ink by the president and secretary of the Organizing Committee. In very good condition, with surface loss to the reverse from prior mounting, which shows through at the top of the invitation.
