Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1731-1796) and seventh president of the Continental Congress. Partly-printed DS, signed “Sam'l Huntington,” one page, 12.5 x 7.75, June 1, 1795. As governor of Connecticut, Huntington appoints Joshua Porter "of said State...to be Judge of our County Court, to be holden within our County of Litchfield.” Prominently signed at the conclusion by Governor Samuel Huntington and countersigned by Secretary George Wyllys. The embossed white paper seal affixed to the left side remains intact. In fine condition.
