Klondike Gold Rush adventurer, dog driver, and participant in the first Byrd Antarctic Expedition (1871-1947) known as the developer of the Chinook sled dog breed. Group of four items signed by Arthur Treadwell Walden, including: a later printing of A Dog-Puncher on the Yukon, hardcover with dust jacket, published by Houghton Mifflin in 1928, signed and inscribed on the first free end page in pencil by Walden; a first edition of Leading a Dog's Life, hardcover, published by Houghton Mifflin in 1931, signed and inscribed opposite the title page in ink by Walden; a first edition of Harness and Pack, published by the American Book Company in 1935, signed on the title page in ink by Walden; and a postcard from the 1931 Wonalancet Dog Derby, signed in pencil by a number of participants, including Walden. Additionally includes four original vintage photographs of Walden and his dogs, plus a copy of the 2005 children's book The First Chinook, inspired by the adventures of Arthur T. Walden. In overall very good condition, with tears and heavy creases to the photographs.
