ALS in French, signed “John S. Sargent,” four pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, Arts Club, Hanover Square letterhead, May 11. Handwritten letter commenting on his time in Europe, in part (translated): "It's been a week since I came to the Circle and I regret it very much because I find a letter from you without date that may have waited a long time...I hasten to tell you that I will be delighted to see you arrive on the 15th. On the 25th you will find me just as much at your disposal if this moment suits you better. Choose and warn me. During this month I have a few commitments to dinner and some portrait sessions, but I will have many days and evenings to dedicate entirely to you. Either in London or in the countryside." In very good to fine condition, with irregular toning to the last page. Accompanied by a full translation.
