Description

Two items: an Aladdin Sane album by David Bowie, who has signed the front cover nicely in blue felt tip; and an original program for the 1973 David Bowie Tour, 8 x 10, which is signed and inscribed on the back cover in blue and black felt tip by the Spiders: “Thanks Brian, Mick Ronson,” “Trevor Bolder,” and “Cheers, Woody [Mick Woodmansey].” Bowie’s sixth studio album, Aladdin Sane, was his final album with the full Spiders lineup. In very good to fine condition, with creasing, handling wear, and smudging to Ronson's signature; the Bowie album itself is fine. The record is not included.

Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient for the program: “I lived in Hollywood at the time, I was a photographer, and I would be at all the concerts and would hang out at the Roxy and Rainbow waiting for the celebrities to come in or out...I bought this program at the David Bowie concert at the Masonic Temple concert in Detroit on 3-2-73. After the concert we went by the back door and were thrilled when the security guard let us in. We got Mick Ronson (RIP), Trevor Bolder (RIP) and Woody Woodmansey to sign the program. We were so excited because we knew the elusive Bowie was coming by any second. Well he did and the guard held us back. Bowie blew us a kiss with that gold dot on his forehead and orange hair and snuck out the back door.”
