I will always be very happy to find the opportunity to please you." In fine condition. A later note in ink indicates that the addressee is Marie-Euphémie-Désirée de Tascher de La Pagerie (1739-1803), paternal aunt of the future Empress Joséphine. A close friend of the governor of Martinique, the Marquis François de Beauharnais, she had arranged the marriage of her niece to his youngest son, Alexandre de Beauharnais.
