Description

Handwritten notes in pencil by Thomas Edison, unsigned, annotated on a typed letter addressed to him by Edison Phonograph Company inspector/salesman Hal Starrett, one page, 8.5 x 11, January 5, 1922. Starrett solicits a request from Edison on “the following articles for Bound Brook,” asking for items like furniture, office supplies, and special stationery, amongst other things. All pencil notations above the “Phono Covers” section are in the hand of Edison, who responds to topics like furniture (“We have excess office furniture here, see Hanson”), literature (“Williams & Burns”), record stock (“no, not yet”), and demonstrating phonographs (“wrong, you need 3 rented Chippendales exhibition machines, not used”). In fine condition, with multiple file holes, and a few short edge tears.
