Description

Mexican general and politician (1794-1876) best known in the US for his role in the Mexican-American War and the slaughter of scores of Americans at the Alamo. Unbound partly-printed DS in Spanish, signed “A. L de Sta. Anna,” four pages, 11 x 17, 1854. An untranslated military appointment signed at the bottom of the first page by Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna as president of Mexico. The balance of the document contains signatures from various other officials. In very good condition, with chipping to the edges, and inexpert old tape repairs to the back of splitting along the intersecting folds.
