Four large sections of English Eccentrics silk fabric used by the PRN wardrobe department to adjust or mend Prince's stage outfits while on tour. The fabric, which ranges in size from 36 x 36.5 to 87 x 45, is adorned with repeating motifs of cherubs, dragons, and doves, imagery that bridges Asian and Renaissance art with Prince’s own aesthetic style and creative output, namely, his iconic song, ‘When Doves Cry.’ In overall fine condition. In the early 1990s, Prince's wardrobe staff scouted all over Europe for great fabrics to be proposed to Prince; after a trip to the UK, several 'English Eccentrics' shirts were presented to him for review and approval. These English Eccentrics patterns became one of Prince's iconic looks of the period.
