Description

Manuscript DS, signed “George R.,” one page, 11.25 x 18.25, July 5, 1764. The king directs Paymaster General Henry Lord Hollands to approve an annual allowance of £2431.18 to be paid unto “the several Officers and Private Gentlemen of the Two Troops of Horse Guards, and of Our Own Regiment of Horse, lately reduced, and to the Superannuated Gentlemen of the Four Troops of Horse Guards.” Signed prominently in the upper border by King George III, and countersigned in the lower right by George Grenville, Frederick North, Lord North, and John Turner. In very good condition, with tears and loss to the edges, and tape repairs to the back of complete fold separations.
