(Walt Disney Studios, 1940) Original production cel featuring Figaro from Pinocchio, depicting Geppetto's pet cat lying in bed with a surprised expression. The cel has been trimmed and applied to a hand-painted woodgrain background as prepared by Courvoisier Galleries for sale. Image (cat and bed) measures 6 x 5, with a mat opening of 9.5 x 8. Double-matted and framed to an overall size of 17.25 x 15.75. In very good condition, with noticeable dampstaining to wood background, resulting in surface flaking and lifting; the cel, which also bears some lifting from the backdrop, retains its paint and color. Accompanied by the original Walt Disney Productions label issued by the Courvoisier Galleries, which bears considerable water damage.
