Description

Mathematician (1903-1957) who made contributions to nearly every technical field and made major strides in game theory, nuclear physics, and computer science. In the realm of computing, von Neumann is considered as important as Ada Lovelace and Alan Turing. Very rare ink signature, "With best wishes, John von Neumann, Princeton Jan. 13, 1947,” on an off-white 5 x 3 card. In fine condition, with some faint envelope-related toning. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope from The Institute for Advanced Study, School of Mathematics, postmarked in Princeton, New Jersey, on January 15, 1947.
