Superb vintage matte-finish 7.75 x 9.5 candid photo of John Lennon that was taken by a fan at Lennon’s Weybridge, Surrey home, ‘Kenwood,’ in early 1967, signed nicely over his image in black ballpoint. The consignor notes that the photograph was taken (and the autograph collected) by an avid Beatles fan who visited their respective homes on a number of occasions in the late 1960s; the fan recalled that ‘they were pretty relaxed about posing for photographs on their own front doorsteps. The first time one of The Beatles opened their door I nearly fainted.” In very good condition, with creasing, scratching, and fading to the signature. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks. Just shy of 8 x 10, this scarce uninscribed photo represents an atypically seen ‘large-size’ portrait of the iconic Beatles founder.
