Description

Space Shuttle-era left-handed bladder for a Phase VI TMG (Thermal Micrometeoroid Garment) glove, measuring 13″ in length, featuring Teflon abrasion cloth to the inner cuff area. The back of the thumb/wrist area is annotated as "6PZ, SN 297, DACN 296, Cure Date 1-5-08, Lot 8100 - 63398 - 1, Class III," and the bottom of the forearm cuff is marked "6PZ, P/N 0106-812672-01, S/N 657." The consignor notes that this particular glove was specifically molded to the hand dimensions of Space Shuttle veteran Scott E. Parazynski, an astronaut who flew on five missions: STS-66, STS-86, STS-95, STS-100, and STS-120. In fine condition. The TMG is the outermost layer of the space suit and provides insulation, radiation shielding, and protection from micrometeorites that could otherwise puncture the suit.
