Very rare unflown 10K gold STS-107 Robbins medal, approximately 1.5″ x 2″, featuring a raised design of the mission insignia on the face. The reverse features raised text with the launch date of January 16, 2003, the tragic reentry date of February 1, 2003, and the surnames of the astronauts who perished in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. The medal is serial numbered "22" and stamped with the Robbins hallmark on the edge. Condition is mint state. Accompanied by the original matching plastic box with its stiff blue liner. Only 23 of these medals were minted in 10K gold, making this an extremely scarce and highly desirable example.
