Vintage printed sheet music booklet for Anton Webern’s orchestration of Johann Sebastian Bach’s ‘The Ricercar,’ a six-voice fugue from the latter’s renowned collection The Musical Offering, 38 pages, 11.25 x 14, signed and inscribed on the front cover in fountain pen, “To Leonard Stein, best wishes for 1954, from Igor Stravinsky, who copied this very remarkable score, Dec. 1953.” In fine condition, with edge toning and hinge wear to the covers. Three years later, in 1956, Igor Stravinsky made an arrangement of Bach’s Canonic Variations for orchestra and mixed choir, adding extra contrapuntal lines.
