Oxford University Press sheet music booklet for “Corpus Christi Carol” by Benjamin Britten, four pages, 9 x 12.25, signed and inscribed on the first page in blue ballpoint, “For John, with love, from Ben.” In fine condition, with splitting to the bottom of the cover hinge. This was the personal copy of English tenor John Elwes, whose original name, “John Hahessy,” is printed at the top of the first page. His extensive repertoire ranged from Monteverdi, Charpentier, Rameau, Bach, and Handel to Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Mahler, and Britten.
