ALS signed “R. F. B.,” one page, 3.25 x 5.5, September 1, [no year]. Handwritten letter to James S. Cotton in London and mailed from Trieste when Burton was serving as the British Consul. Burton asks his correspondent if he would like a stirring letter about Egypt, sent from Alexandria, noting that it "will require courage to insert it." Addressed on the reverse in Burton's hand. In fine condition, with horizontal creases and two tiny staple holes.
