The primary function of a remote analog sub-multiplexer is to collect analog signals from different sensors, devices, or sources distributed across a system and then multiplex or combine these signals into a single data stream. This consolidated data stream can then be transmitted to a central processing unit or monitoring station, usually over a communication network.
