Attractive limited edition sculpture honoring America in the 1980 Olympic Games, which were held in Lake Placid and Moscow. The sculpture, evidently cast in silver over bronze, stands 19″ in height and weighs 14 pounds, and depicts three athletic figures: a discus thrower, a diver, and a downhill skier. These figures are set atop five Olympic rings surmounting a domed base with engraved text: “1980 Olympics U.S.A.” The opposite side of the base bears the artist’s name (Christopher Burton) and fingerprint signature, the copyright date (1979), and the edition number (1st / AP). The sculpture is mounted to an 11″ wooden base with a rotatable upper platform. In fine condition, with scattered light scuffs and marks.
