Early rock 'n' roller and disc jockey (1930-1959) known for his songs 'Chantilly Lace,' 'Running Bear,' and 'White Lightning,' who was tragically killed along with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens in a plane crash on February 3, 1959—famously known as 'The Day the Music Died.' Rare vintage circa 1958 glossy 8 x 10 Mercury Records publicity photo of the Big Bopper, signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint, "To Reg—Thanks for the wonderful hospitality, Big Bopper.” This classic, full-length portrait of the rare rock 'n' roller was taken by Van Dyck Studio in Richardson's hometown of Beaumont, Texas. In fine condition, with tiny pin holes to the corners, and some slight pen trouble in the last name. The Big Bopper's autograph is extremely scarce and sought after in any form, with this being the first signed photograph we've offered in well over ten years.
