ALS, one page, 8.5 x 11, June 2, 1949. Handwritten letter to E. E. Schmidt in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in part: "I'm sending you a copy of the Paris 'Capricorn,' signed. I'll be glad to keep yours, as I have never seen this edition. If the copy I send you suits you, you can pay me whatever you please for it—and don't send too much. Sorry, but I don't have any of the 'Hamlet.' You might try George Leite of 'Circle'…or Frances Steloff of The Gotham Book Mart…They shouldn't (2 vols.) cost you more than $10.00. The Rosy Crucifixion (Vol. I) is due out in August. How I will get copies—and how many—is still a problem. But I will remember you, if I do. If you ever know any reliable folks in your vicinity who want the banned books, do let me know." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Miller's own hand.
