Motion picture entrepreneur (1886-1951) who, along with his older brother Charles, were Canadian pioneers in early Hollywood. Al oversaw Nestor Studios, the first-ever movie studio to be built in Hollywood, and later formed a partnership with his brother to create Christie Film Company, which lasted until 1933. Vintage pearl-finish 10 x 13 portrait photo of Al Christie by the Irving Chidnoff Studio of New York, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Famous Players Corp., very best wishes, Al Christie, London Ontario, 1943.” Affixed to a same-size mount and in fine condition, with neatly trimmed edges. Christie is rare across all signed formats, with this being the first time that we've offered an autograph of this comedy pioneer.
