Canadian-American filmmaker and studio head (1880-1960) who opened Keystone Studios, the first fully enclosed film stage, and was the originator of slapstick routines such as pie-throwing and car-chases; in 1938, he was presented with an honorary Academy Award for his contribution to film comedy. Vintage glossy 7.5 x 9.25 close-up photo of Sennett with a straight face and a wide-brimmed hat, signed and inscribed in black ink, "with best wishes, Mack Sennett.” Affixed to a same-size mount and in very good to fine condition, with neatly trimmed edges, scattered light creasing, and some crazing to the emulsion.
