Vintage pearl-finish 11 x 14 Hal Phyfe portrait photo of Fields in an early distinguished pose, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Peggy & Howard, with sincere good wishes always from their friend, W. C. Fields." The reverse bears a Phyfe credit stamp and a pencil notation that reads “W. C. Fields in Earl Carroll Vanities.” In very good to fine condition, with some surface scratches, scattered light creasing, and a longer diagonal crease to the lower right background.
