Unsigned handwritten notes by Senator John F. Kennedy, one page, 8 x 10.5, United States Senate letterhead, no date but circa mid-1950s. A page of Senator Kennedy's handwritten notes on labor and the United States economy. In part: "point being that South can show...that they are much worse off. Plan to show somewhere what Federal gov't has done for South...some of her problems are the result of what you say here—human failings...but they are more fundamental...difficulty here is we have them both mixed up." In very fine condition. An interesting piece in which the young Senator recognizes the fundamental and geographical forces affecting the economic realities of the United States' citizenry, and the impact that the federal government might have on the lives of its constituents.
