British illustrator (1820-1914) best known for his collaborations with Lewis Carroll on the Alice in Wonderland books. ALS, one page both sides, 4.25 x 7, August 25, 1854. Handwritten letter to Frederick Mullett Evans, the publisher of Punch magazine. in part: "This is to thank you very much indeed for the cheques and to say that if my frequent applications have been in any way troublesome and annoying to you, how much I regret it—and to assure you that they have been no less so as to myself. I quite agree with you that the present mode of settlement is more agreeable to me, sincerely so. We don't have this till Monday Morn'g, so you shall have the zinc drawing tomorrow afternoon. I am quite curious to see the result of the experiment." In fine condition.
