Important French painter and sculptor (1834-1917) regarded as one of the founders of Impressionism. ALS in French, signed “Degas,” one page on a 5 x 3 French 'carte pneumatique' postcard, postmarked December 12, 1898. Handwritten letter to "Madame Mayer" in Paris, in full (translated): "Madame Mayer can pick up the drawing on Friday or Saturday. I beg her not to bother me today." Addressed on the reverse in Degas' hand. In very good to fine condition, with creasing to the left edge, and toning from prior display.
