Three signed books on the Civil War by celebrated midwestern novelists: a first edition of Wild Is The River, published by Harper & Brothers in 1941, signed and inscribed on the half-title page in fountain pen by Louis Bromfield; a first trade edition of Remembrance Rock, published by Harcourt, Brace and Company in 1948, signed on the first free end page in fountain pen by Carl Sandburg; and a special Civil War Book Club edition of Storm Over the Land, published by Harcourt, Brace and Company in 1942, signed below a facsimile statement in fountain pen by Carl Sandburg. In overall fine condition, with rubbing to the spine of the Bromfield book.
