Impressive United States Army Intelligence Medal presented to Lieutenant General William P. Yarborough. Bronze-tone, 210 gm, 3″ in diameter, the front features the embossed seal of the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Corps, and the reverse is engraved: “LTG William P. Yarborough, ACSI, December 1966 - July 1968.” Includes its original presentation case with inner plate (detached): “Presented by Lieutenant General C. B. Eichelberger, Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, United States Army.” In fine condition.
During the final years of his career, Yarborough was the Army's top intelligence officer at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. In his role as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence on the Army General Staff, he monitored the Army's intelligence training programs, provided finished intelligence materials to the Army General Staff, and directed the Army's personnel security program.
