German socialist and co-founder of the Spartacist League and the Communist Party of Germany (1871-1919) who is best known for his opposition to World War I and his role in the Spartacist uprising of 1919. Partly-printed DS, in German, signed “Dr. K. Liebknecht,” one page both sides, 8.25 x 13, June 27, 1902. Untranslated document headed "Zahlungs-Verbot," signed at the conclusion by Liebknecht. In very good condition, with several small edge tears and losses, and a rusty circular paperclip impression to the edge. Accompanied by two additional documents signed by his brother, Theodor Liebknecht, also a German socialist politician and activist.
