Unopened first generation original silver Apple iPod Mini, Order M9160LL/A (4GB). The box features life-size front and side images of the iPod Mini, a large closeup of the click wheel, and player specifications, with front text reading: “iPod mini, 4GB Mac + PC iTunes included.” In brand new, factory-sealed condition, with some wear to corners and adhesive residue to center of click wheel. Encapsulated and graded by CAS with a master grade of “80” and a real grade of “82.2.”
Released by Apple on January 6, 2004, the first generation iPod Mini was introduced as a smaller and more compact version of the original iPod, offering a more lightweight and pocket-friendly design, a 4 GB hard drive allowing users to store approximately 1,000 songs, and built-in iTunes integration. The iPod Mini quickly gained popularity due to its compact size, stylish design, and impressive storage capacity, and in due time became one of Apple's best-selling iPod models. The iPod Mini was discontinued by Apple a year later in September 2005, as the company shifted its focus to the iPod Nano, which offered a slimmer design and flash-based storage.
So popular was the iPod Mini during its brief run at the top, Steve Jobs, at the Q4 2004 Earnings Conference Call, gushed over the success of the miniature media player: ‘We're also thrilled with the performance of the iPod Mini, which now accounts for over half of all iPods sold at retail. The iPod Mini is off to an incredible start, and we're confident it will become one of the top choices for this holiday season.’
