Civil War-era third-issue 10 cent fractional currency banknote issued in 1863, 3.25 x 2, featuring an oval portrait of George Washington in the center, with "10" stamped in each corner. In fine condition. Fractional currency was first issued in 1862 as a response to widespread hoarding of small change during the Civil War.
