TLS as president, one page, 7 x 9, black-bordered White House letterhead, September 1, 1923. Letter to William F. Leach, in full: “I have your kind letter of the 30th, and have been very much interested in what you tell me of the friendly sentiment which you hear expressed. I recall our last meeting when I was on my way to Keene, and I hope that you will remember me to Joe when you see him next.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original White House mailing envelope. Coolidge had only been president for one month when he signed this letter and the nation was still in mourning from the sudden death of Warren G. Harding, hence the black-bordered stationery.
