Uncommon .25″ x .5″ swatch of dark blue seat leather from the 1961 Lincoln Continental X-100 presidential limousine Kennedy was riding in at the time of his assassination. Mounted and framed with a caption sheet and a photo of Kennedy in the limo to an overall size of 12.25 x 17.25. In fine condition. Accompanied by a copy of a letter of provenance from F. Vaughn Ferguson to noted collector Raleigh DeGeer Amyx for a 1982 sale of two large pieces of JFK limo leather, as well as other paperwork related to the assassination and to Ferguson, a technical service representative at the White House whose primary responsibility was the care of the presidential limousine. He was the only person permitted continual hands-on contact with the 1963 presidential limousine after the tragic assassination of our president. Ferguson was able to retain the removed leather sections and then the presidential limousine was sent to a Cincinnati firm for refitting and a security upgrade.
