Description

Esteemed Czech composer (1841-1904) of orchestral and chamber music, best known for his Symphony No. 9, 'From the New World.' Partly-printed DS, one page, 8.25 x 3, April 30, 1893. Receipt for salary received from the National Conservatory of Music of America, in full: "Received from The National Conservatory of Music of America, Nine Hundred & Thirty seven 50/100 Dollars for April salary." Neatly signed at the conclusion by Dvorak as director of The National Conservatory of Music, a position he held from 1892 to 1895. In fine condition, with small staple holes to the upper left corner.
