Polish-born French painter (1891-1953) who served in the French Foreign Legion during World War I and was badly wounded in the Battle of the Somme. Most well known for his surreal nudes and portraits, he was a friend of Amedeo Modigliani. ALS in French, signed “M. Kisling,” one page, 8 x 6.25, January 3, 1950. Untranslated handwritten letter by the noteworthy painter. In fine condition.
