Description

"This is going to be the prettiest, most masterful upset that boxing has ever seen"

TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal 'portrait' letterhead, no date. A typed letter from Muhammad Ali, addressed from 4944 Woodlawn Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, in full: “I was delighted to hear from you. You may not think so, but I really appreciate each and every letter that I receive. I feel good now. I'm in good shape and razor sharp. In case you were a little apprehensive regarding my upcoming fight, let me inform you that this is going to be the prettiest, most masterful upset that boxing has ever seen. I guarantee this, and I couldn't be more serious. Please forgive the brevity of this letter, but I have much to do and must move on. I hope you achieve success in whatever you try to do.” In fine condition. Accompanied by full letters of authenticity from JSA and PSA/DNA, as well as by official programs and a 1974 Sports Illustrated magazine relating to ‘The Rumble in the Jungle,’ the heavyweight championship boxing match between Ali and George Foreman held at the 20th of May Stadium in Kinshasa, Zaire, on October 30, 1974.
