Description

German inventor and early filmmaker (1863-1939) who, with his brother, invented the Bioscop movie projector, which they used on November 1, 1895, to display the first moving picture show to a paying audience. Two items: a glossy 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo of Max Skladanowsky in a tuxedo, boldly signed and inscribed in the lower border in ink in German; and a bold ink signature, "Max Skladanowsky, Erfinder des Bioscop 1895, Berlin, 6 Mai 1933." In overall fine condition.
