Scarce prototype/printer's proof issue of the 1991 comic book published by DC Comics in association with Paisley Park, entitled Prince: Alter Ego, 6.75 x 10.25, 32 pages, published in advance of Prince's 1991 release Diamonds and Pearls. The story, written by Dwayne McDuffie and drawn by Denys Cowan and Kent Williams, tells the story of Prince's battle against a destructive musical foe. Includes the retail versions of the comic books issued in the United States and United Kingdom (with 'love symbol' pin taped to the front cover), as well as the Dutch and Spanish versions of the comic. In fine condition.
Prince's former co-manager Jill Willis recalls: "While it was not a big revenue generator, the Prince comic book was a novel project and a lot of fun to work on with him and with the folks at DC Comics."
