Four magazines featuring Prince on the cover, originating from his office as extra copies given to publicist and manager Jill Willis. Includes the following issues: Rolling Stone, April 28, 1983 ("Prince's Hot Rock"); Rolling Stone, August 30, 1984 ("Prince Scores"); Cut, August 1988 ("Prince: Inside Paisley Park"); and Musician, November 1988 ("Prince vs. Prince: An Artist at War with Himself"). In overall very good condition, with general wear, including losses to the top of the cover of the 1983 Rolling Stone, and a large tear to the back cover of Musician.
Prince's former co-manager Jill Willis recalls: "After moving to Minnesota, I frequently had meetings with Prince in his office. ('He wants to see you' was the call any number of people might get from his assistant....) One day, around the time of the Nude Tour rehearsals, I went in his office (really, a 1500 sq. foot studio apartment) and these magazines—along with a few others—were on a chair by his desk. After we finished speaking, I asked him if I could take these to read (they were before my time working with him) and he said yes. I thanked him and said I would get them back to him or his assistant soon and he said he didn't want them back—that there were extra copies of the same magazines."
