Three woodcut engravings by Paul Revere within "An Astronomical Diary; or, Almanack For the Year of our Lord Christ 1772" by Nathaniel Ames. The 14-page almanac measures 4 x 6.5, and contains three original woodcuts by the legendary Paul Revere, depicting Emma Leach on the front cover; John Dickinson, "Patriotic American Farmer" (page 4); and British historian Catherine M'Caulay (page 7). Signed in ink by Nathaniel Ames on the third page, following his introductory remarks. In good to very good condition, with a fragile binding (pages partially separated, and lacking the last five leaves), edgewear, ink notations to the woodcut on the front, and some light staining and soiling.
