Handsome tennis badge from the Paris 1924 Summer Olympics, featuring a 25 mm x 32 mm badge with tennis pictogram and "VIIIme Olympiade Paris" in a banner across the top, and "Colombes" at the bottom. The reverse bears raised text: "Colombes-Sport, Francais, 1924." The tennis events at the 1924 Summer Games were held at the Stade Tennis de Colombes, slightly north of Paris. Tennis was discontinued as an Olympic sport after 1924 because of disputes over amateur rules between the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Lawn Tennis Federation (ILTF). It would return as a demonstration sport in 1968 and 1984, before again becoming a full-medal sport in 1988.
