Uncommon 9.5″-long gavel crafted from wood removed from the USS Oregon, with an engraved copper identification plaque (material also originating from the USS Oregon) on the head: "Battleship Oregon." In fine condition. The third and final member of the Indiana class of pre-dreadnought battleships built for the United States Navy in the 1890s, the USS Oregon took part in the blockade of Santiago de Cuba during the Spanish-American War, and was then deployed to the Asiatic Squadron, serving during the Philippine-American War and the Boxer Rebellion in Qing China.
