English-born professional baseball player and manager (1835-1895) who built the first professional baseball team, the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1953. Original 6.5 x 4 scorecard filled out in pencil entirely in the hand of Philadelphia manager Harry Wright with standings and statistics pertaining to the 1885 National League season. In the first column, he lists the National League's teams according to their final rank: Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Providence, Boston, Detroit, Buffalo, and St. Louis. The reverse features an interesting advertisement for the 'Mahn Dead Ball: The Only Professional Ball for 1877.' In fine condition. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder. Accompanied by an unsigned Perez-Steele card of Wright.
