Collection of Prince material from Paisley Park Studios. First, this collection includes an “AR Aged Analysis Report” (i.e., a record of activities at the studio). This 42-page document, dated September 5, 1991, contains itemized billing of booked studio sessions at Paisley Park Studios for parts of 1990 and 1991. This includes Paisley Park projects for Prince, Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Tina Turner, the Special Olympics, a Beatles project, Jesse Johnson, Ingrid Chavez, Carmen Electra, Sheila E, MC Hammer, and many others.
Second, this collection also includes a copy of the Recording Work Orders for Paisley Park Studios for September and October 1991. This 14-page document describes projects such as Prince’s “Cream dubs,” his work on the song “When 2 R in Love” (included on his albums “Lovesexy” and “The Black Album”), as well as other projects (e.g., “The Thunder Ballet.”).
Third is a group of 8 original photographs of Paisley Park Studios taken in 1991 by an amateur photographer. The color glossy photos (approx. 3.5” x 5”) depict locations inside the studios, including Prince’s piano in Studio A, two of his guitars, his life-size “dummy mannequin” (used for clothing fittings), his doves Majesty and Divinity, his pre-vault room, and the famous vault door itself. In overall fine condition. From the collection of an early Prince insider.
